Paul, in 1 Corinthians 13, in the context of the practice and purpose of spiritual gifts within the Corinthian church, provides the foundational definition of the supremacy of true Christian love within the church. Paul make it clear that the true mark of Christian maturity is in the practice of “a still more excellent way”. The way of “agape” love.
