The Great I AM: Kid's Devotional

5-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional Guide

Day 1: The Shepherd Who Feeds His Flock

Reading: Luke 9:10-17; Ezekiel 34:11-16

Devotional: Jesus did not send the hungry crowd away. He had them sit down, thanked God for the food, broke the bread, and fed every single person in that empty place. This is more than just a cool miracle -- it shows us who Jesus really is. The God who promised in the Bible to take care of His people showed up right there on the shore of the lake. Whenever you feel lonely or like you don't have enough, remember that the Good Shepherd hasn't left you. He is right there with you, taking care of you. You can sit down and trust Him completely!

Day 2: Depending on the God Who Provides

Reading: Philippians 4:19; Exodus 16:1-18; Psalm 23

Devotional: The Israelites complained in the desert because they were hungry and forgot about God, even though He had just rescued them. We can act just like that sometimes! When things get tough or scary, our first reaction is to panic instead of praying. But God often puts us in tricky spots on purpose so we learn to trust Him. Just like He sent bread from heaven for the Israelites and food for the hungry crowd, He will always take care of you. God never forgets His kids when they are going through a tough time!

Day 3: Who Do You Say That He Is

Reading: Luke 9:18-20; Philippians 2:9-11; John 8:58

Devotional: Jesus didn't ask His friends what other people thought of Him or what was popular. He looked right at the disciples—the people who had walked with Him and watched Him do amazing things—and asked them what *they* thought. That same question is for you, too! Peter gave a wonderful answer: Jesus is the Christ, God's chosen King. There is no middle ground here. Jesus is asking you the same question, and it's the most important question you will ever answer!

Day 4: The Christ Who Conquered Through the Cross

Reading: Colossians 1:13-14; Isaiah 53:4-6; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Devotional: Peter knew Jesus was the Messiah, but Jesus wasn't the kind of fighting king people expected. He came to fight a much bigger enemy: sin, death, and darkness. Instead of starting a big army, He gave His life on a cross. He didn't fight back; instead, He took the punishment for our mistakes so we could be forgiven. Hundreds of years before it even happened, the prophet Isaiah wrote about how Jesus would be hurt for our wrong choices to make us whole. Taking communion at church helps us remember this incredible rescue mission!

Day 5: The Gospel That Satisfies What Nothing Else Can

Reading: John 6:35; Matthew 5:6; Romans 1:16-17

Devotional: People try all kinds of things to feel happy and important, like video games, toys, or trying to do everything on their own. But none of those things can truly satisfy our hearts like Jesus can! Jesus called Himself the bread of life, which means He is the absolute best thing for our souls. The crowd in the wilderness got full that day, but Jesus came to fill our hearts forever. Come and see how wonderful God is. Put your trust in Jesus and find true joy!
